This is just a quick follow-up to the post I wrote way back when about Califorina and gay marraige. Well, I never would have thought that my home state of Iowa would be one of the early adopters but it happened:

I am SO happy for Iowa because I know that love is love and has no gender boundaries. If two people love each other to make that committment, they should be allowed to.
But also, it makes me SO sad for my home state of California! The most forward-thinking state in the US, where so many gay people feel at home and feel accepted, and they can’t get married. It makes me so sad.

I’m also really happy for Iowa and for the world, haha.
As more states legalize same-sex marriage it will seem less and less “ridiculous” for each subsequent state to follow. And soon (hopefully) the entire country will have legalized it.
Great step forward for gay rights.
Angela, Prop 8 was disappointing, but I’m sure that change is on the way for CA.
Lindsey–instead of just writing the Bible passage, why don’t you rephrase it in your own words? You are basically saying that gay people should be punished with death, if that is what you mean by just putting the Bible verse? Or are you just throwing it out there?

Basically just throwing it out there – mostly because whenever I put what I want to say in my own words, it can be misinterpreted, judged, misread, etc. I figured God’s Word is a little harder to dispute since it’s right there in black and white. I certainly don’t believe that homosexuals should be put to death (because we obviously don’t have to pay the death penalty for sin anymore) but I also don’t think it’s anything that God condones now or deems okay.

I think its absolutely brilliant, in a world so full of sadness, confusion and anger, every little step towards ending bigotry of any kind is a step towards love.
The Bible/Koran whatever book you read, is wrote by men not God. I believe God is all encompassing, all loving, I don’t think God attended bigot school!
